Another Coronal Mass Ejection Blasts From Sun

If anyone required additional evidence that the sun is an extraordinarily violent place, this clip from the SOHO spacecraft provides it.  

Fortunately for Earth this CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) occurred on the far side of the sun so none of the plasma or ionized particles are Earthbound.  

The video also shows a sun-diving comet racing toward the sun. The comet didn't emerge from behind the sun which indicates it didn't survive its close approach.  

The comet appears in the lower right corner and moves toward the sun.
