Global Patterns of Carbon Dioxide

There is a lot of debate these days (mostly among politicians) about whether climate change is really happening and whether humans are a contributing factor.

Mention climate change and you automatically have to talk about carbon dioxide (CO2).  Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas, meaning it allows heat energy from the sun to enter the atmosphere and heat the Earth but not escape back into space.

The following article from the NASA Earth Observatory lays out the current science and data about how CO2 levels have risen at an alarming pace since the 1960's.  The global map is an even better illustration.
